So bought a road bike a week and a half ago and for mental reasons I haven't been on it. So today perfect weather for it. Kitted up and away we go. Initially a majorly different sensation from my mtb. I knew that was going to be the case but didnt realise how much. Managed 20miles in 1hour 9minutes with an average speed of 16.4mph. Not sire if that is good or not.

Things I have learned.
My bum now has a pad permanently attached due to knife saddle.
Might need to raise the saddle a wee bit.
Going on the drops is fun.
Changing gear takes some getting use to.
Pulling up on the pedals is a huge benefit.

  • Oh I also learned that it is not as scary as I first thought, and my mental blocks were ridiculously stupid, and I glad I just mtfud!

Is no body else worried about his mental reasons?

There is a previous post in here, regarding my mental reasons but I dont know how to link to it.

It was great fun today, although I think I need to drink more during theride as when I get home I start feel headachey after a while.
