Hello,
last year in September I bought a BTwin Triban 3. Nice bike, ideal choice for communing to work without spend too much budget.
I don't have any previous road cycling experience, but confronting press pictures of some road bikes with mine I found the shifter position of the Triban 3 too high.
I've attached a couple of pictures. Please, give them a look and tell me your thoughts.

Ps. apologies for include on the pictures my clothes, shoes, and bath stuffs

Shifter position is a personal choice....
Move them around till you find whats comfy."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."
PX Kaffenback 2 = Work Horse
B-Twin Alur 700 = Sundays and Hills0 -
Maybe a little on the high side but they don't look massively out of position and it is mostly down to personal preference (as long as you can reach the brakes!).
How does it feel? You could always try playing around with the position. You will get good at wrapping bar tape too!0 -

Being my first road bike experience, it has been absolutely nice. I am not used to put my hands on the lower part of the handlebar, but maybe it is because I am not wearing Lycra clothes, but normal casual clothes which are not particularly comfy when you have to bend forward. Except for that I can say the bike is quite good, it is not a lightweight but has served me for 3 months without any problem.
I have to give a look at the groupset because sometimes it misses shifts. Anyway nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of DIY
Shifters are just a little too high maybe, they aren't uncomfortable but.. they don't look right to me and the feeling is not optimal. I am not particularly impressed by bar tape too, so.. maybe it's not a bad idea playing a bit with shifters position0
