I've been looking at buying a Ribble 7005 audax as a winter, bad weather commuter hack, the only thing is i've been led to believe that Ribble sizing is confusing to say the least. I'm 5ft 10" with a 32" inside leg and currently ride a 54cm CAAD10 which fits me a treat. Does anyone out there of similar proportions to me ride a 7005 and if so what size?

I havent tried this bike, but am in the market for a Winter/general training frame, so will read responses with interest. I'm a similar size to you. What are your body proportions? If you have a relatively larger torso, I would size up.Never mistake motion for action

Without wanting to sound funny, they are exactly as the dimensions in the diagram suggest! Take a look at the top tube length vs your own bike (horizontal) and use that as a starting point. Just be aware that since the Ribble is a traditional frame there will not be much seatpost showing and the top tube will be higher than a compact frame. FWIW I went down one size.
Funnily enough, I was thinking about this bike today out riding it. Having had one for years..and thinking would I buy one now? I don't think so. The geometry is a bit old school but worse than that is the terrible tyre clearance for the poor roads of today. Only 23mm tyres on a winter bike and they rub like crazy if there is too much crap on the roads with full SKS mudguards. IMO it's time for Ribble to update them a bit.0 -

I think they have been updated. I bought one 3 or 4 years ago and it came with mudguards already fitted and can comfortably accommodate 25mm tyres.___________________________________________

Before I bought the bike I have (a Merlin RS, 56cm) I went to Ribble to try the winter trainer bike. I sat on a 56cm one and I was very stretched out when my hands were on the brake hoods. They suggested a 54cm frame.
I'm a fraction over 5' 10" and have a 33" inside leg. Most of my height is leg if that helps0
