Nipple Size / Gauge - what do I need & what oil / grease?

Hi.
Just got a set of wheels with DT Competition Double Butted Spokes and I want to swap the silver alloy nipples to red anodised ones.
I've found out that the spokes are 1.8mm in the centre and 2.0mm at each end and come, when new, with 12mm spokes.
My questions are:
1. What gauge nipples would I need?
2. Would I be ok to use 14mm long, as that's all i can find in the red colour ones?
3. When I fit the new ones, should I "Copper Grease" the threads before fitting?
Many thanks

1) standard nipples for 2.0mm 14g spokes will be fine
2) Yes if they are the Sapim ones.
3) You can do it certainly won't hurt. The main issues with alloy nipples come if they are exposed to salt. Sapim claim the anoding helps protect the nipples from corrosion.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0
