Sidi road shoes

I'm looking at buying a new pair of shoes for the summer, but having never tried a pair of sidi shoes on and with buying via the Internet I am unsure of sizing. I'm sure there will be a returns policy but its nice to get it right the first time.
I know the general rule seems to be order a size up but i was just wanting to confirm this with anyone that has a pair of Sidi's.
I am normally a size 9 and have a pair of Northwave shoes just now that fit and they are a 10.
So, size 10 again?

Sidi are pretty narrow shoes, I cant wear them, but am fine with both Northwave and Specialized. You should really try some on!0

I’m a size 9 in street shoes (e.g. Adidas) and a 43.5 standard fit in Sidi. My personal experience from the pairs I’ve bought over the years is that they are narrow, not short, so buy the size of shoe you normally buy but if you have wide feet go for the Sidi ‘Mega’ fit for the extra width.0

Agree with trying them on. I bought a pair by upsizing a whole size from my normal Specialized road shoes and they are far too narrow. I don't consider myself to have wide feet either :x0

The problem is there is no one within 100 miles who stocks sidi that I am aware of so the Internet is my only option.
I've never heard of "mega" fit either and can't see it mentioned on the bikeinn website that I'm looking at.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow

I use sidi, where are you located ?

Why limit yourself to Sidi if you have never tried them?
Surely the best approach would be to go round as many LBS as you can and try on all the different brands to find the ones that fit the best?

It's a good thought, but call me old fashioned, it's cause I like the look of them.
All my LBS seem to stock are shimano and I just don't get excited by them.
Vtech, thanks for the offer but I'm in the south of Scotland so I'd be surprised if you're near to me.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow

That's very odd! I have both Spesh and Sidi shoes (3pr spesh, 2pr sidi) and I have consistently found that Spesh are 45 whilst Sidi are 46. If you can try on a pair of Spesh shoes, I'd suggest allowing 1 size up for Sidi.
Incidentally, I use Spesh footbed insoles in all my bike shoes (Sidi standard insoles are a bit of a joke imo - their shoes aren't!).

I've bitten the bullet.
I'm measuring for a size 43 on all size charts and foot length so I've ordered a 45. Hopefully it works out. I'm right at the top end of a 43.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow

Concur on both counts, I used the footbeds taken from a 45 Spesh shoe in a 46 Sidi and it was bob on, and Sidi footbeds are utterly pointless pices of thin cardboard - you should get some proper footbeds at the same time you get your (Sidi) shoes IMO.0 -
ditto the above0

I take a size 8 shoe and have 42 Sidis that fit fine with the cardboard and I am comfortable with that. If you need a thicker footbed then take that with you when trying sizes. Seems logical.None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -
Proper footbeds don't have to be thick, just not completely flat. If you have *any* sort of arch to your foot, then you will need better support than Sidi's cardboard offering.0

Sidi make excellent shoes, and I wear Sidis. The latest models including the Ergo 2 and 3 are indeed a little on the narrow side, might mean you would have to go up 1/2 size, but if you are going to order online, order two pairs and return the pair that don't fit. This is the only way without trying them on in a shop. The Mega sizes are there for extra wide feet afaik.
I see you have ordered some two sizes bigger than you normally have, this might be overkill or they may be ok.0 -
I couldn't really order 2 pairs as the first pair was leaving a sizeable dent in my back account. I realise I'd get it back but that would take time.
I am probably 2 sizes up but only just, I think there is about 4mm in it according to the charts. 4mm too small I'd feel but I'm not sure if I'll feel 4mm too big and If I do, I could then maybe replace the footbeds like some are saying. Time will tell.
It's the new wire vernice I've ordered. A bit pricey but my brother has that system in his specialized shoes and it works really well.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow

4mm too big!! Haha.
£16 to send them back to Spain then another wait before the size 44's are sent out.
Nice shoes though, not all that narrow at all as some have said.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow

They're £267 at Parkers. I got Wiggle to price match. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

£270 using a discount code and a free pair of sidi socks.
I wanted the fluro yellow/black and neither Parkers or Wiggle stocked them.
£16 postage back has stifled it a bit though.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow
