Struggling with rear axle

Got some play in the freewheel on my Specialized FSR XC Expert and im struggling removing the axle.
I have cone spanners but they seem useless here. Doesn't seem to be a dust cover to remove either.
Do these axles just hammer out?

Yep definately pulls off (with some force might i add!), i've had these specialized hubs before and messed around for hours. I'm pretty sure these are cartridge bearings too.0
