New wheel spacers and chain removal

Hi

I'm upgrading some Racing5s to Racing Zeros. Shimano freehub. The new hub is an 11speed, whereas I don't think the old one was. The new wheels come with a spacer that looks about 3mm thick, which says it should be used against the hub for 9 or 10 speed cassettes (but not 8 and no mention of 11) and has notches for the splines. I'm using a 10sp cassette. The old cassette also has a thin spacer (maybe 1mm) and I'm not sure if I should use just the new Fulcrum one or both?

Also, I'd like to clean the chain properly while I'm doing this but I don't have a replacement "reinforced" peg. Can I just push out the old one (is this the one with the black rivet?) and then push it back in afterwards? Or should I pick up a new peg in the morning and be patient? What's the right thing to do here? I've only removed chains with magic links before.

Thanks!

What model of cassette are you using?

and no you do not re use the joining pin. you leave it and push out a different pin and use a new joining pin.

unless you are going to use a quick link.

cassettes 8 and 9 are the same with. tiagra 10spd is also the same. other Shimano 10spd need a 1mm spacer to make them the same width.

    11spd no idea.

Thanks guys, I'll pick up a new joining pin in the morning.

It's an Ultegra 10speed cassette so I guess that means I keep the 1mm spacer (it's on here as #14 so I should have guessed it needs to stay), and then also add the spacer that came with the hub.

    Advice much appreciated, cheers.
