Merida Speeder t3

I posted a week or so for some advice re Trek 7.4fx vs Specialized sirrus Elite and recieved some sound advice. I have just come accross the Merida Speeder T3 and it seems you get quite a good spec for the money.

rrp is £650 which happens to be the voucher value of my bike to work scheme.
Does anyone have any experiance of Merida bikes or could you make a recomendation on how you would spend the £650. I am looking at hybrid bikes to gain fitness and will commute a couple of times per week 10 miles e/w.It has been 10yrs + since I last road a mountain bike so hybrid seems to be the easiest way back into riding.
