Workmate's looking for a new hardtail, and would really like a 29er.
Stipulation is that it must be available from somewhere that does CycleScheme - http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/
We've got a Giant dealership local to us, and we're off to look at a Revel 29er 0 tomorrow morning, but the spec looks a little meh, can anyone recommend something suitable please?

The Revel is gash. Horrible, undamped, clunky fork and a spec seen on many £400 bikes.
I'd forget the 29er and get something with a fork that works. Decathlon?0 -
Thanks for the reply, the reviews do seem to suggest similar!
Do Decathlon do cyclescheme? Can't see anything on their site, and the nearest store's 150 miles away!0 -
They do one of the versions. Paul's Cycles do too, but they only have one outlet.0

Voodoo have got 2 new 29er bikes coming out in the next couple of months if you are willing to wait. Not sure on the specs but one of them is replacing the Hoodoo 29er so should be fairly good for the money.0

Unfortunately, Halfords don't support cyclescheme, they do a different one.0 -
Well, he's getting the Revel, and talking about upgrading the fork next year, I tried!0
