I am contemplating upgrading my wheel set on my cube peloton sl. I have whittled it down to three wheelsets which are listed below. which would you chose? all advice gratefully received.

wheel set 1 - Easton ea90 slx
wheel set 2 - Easton ec70 sl
wheel set 3 - Shimano Dura ace WH-9000 C24 CL Clincher

The wheels would be used mainly for sportives and sunday bests with the original wheels ( Easton ea30's ) being used for training and commuting

I'll Buy your ea30 if you were to sell and that would give you a bigger budget for lighter wheels :)

So many ways to get light wheels. I have built 32 spoke wheels that weigh 1500g for a pair. Plenty of factory wheels at that weight too. I know which I prefer.

All wheels roll the same, they are round. The rolling resistance of the tyre is 100x greater than that of the hub. A hub may consume 0.2W at 20 mph may bit less. Not much really. All wheels roll well.

Aerodynamic wheels hardly save any power as well. More spokes you can have less weight at the rim. Less spokes means more weight at the rim. The difference in the way the two types of wheels accelerates is small also.

More spokes generally means longer spoke life.
