New Chain Advice

Hi
Total newbie question: I'm having trouble figuring out what new chain I need - there are plenty of guides online to help with fitting but none seem to cover which chain to actually buy in the first place.
* It's for a 7 speed cassette on a Carerra Subway One - presumably this determines the width, but do I also need to take into account the chain pitch to make sure it matches the gears?
* The only time it will be removed is when it's replaced so I'm not too bothered about easy removal e.g. SRAM powerlinks
* Does it matter particularly if the make of the chain matches the make of the cassette?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

as long as the speed is correct buy whatever you want.
7/8spd are the same width chain."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I personally love KMC chains. Top product & usually cheaper & come with a split link, which may or may not help you keep the thing clean!0

Thanks a lot guys - the KMC chains look good....0

The kmc z7 is a great value for money chain. Runs really smooth with Shimano and Suntour cogs and the joining link is great. I found it much better than the sram one . Hope this helps.0

I found several rear cassette specs online for the Subway One including Sram (7.1mm) and Shimano (7.3mm). Regardless, 7 speeds aren't too picky so you could either go with the following KMC chains:
Z51 (http://www.kmcchain.com/en/product.php?act=view&id=37)
Any 8 speed chain (same sizing as 7 speed) including:
Z7 or Z8 (http://www.kmcchain.com/en/product.php?act=view&id=19)
Z72, Z82, Z92 (http://www.kmcchain.com/en/product.php?act=view&id=31)
