I have been on my turbo trainer at lot in the last 4 months ,Just doing 3 x 1-1/2 hour sessions a week,I have upped the intenstity ..After the last couple of turbo sessions i have really stiff legs and aching muscles the next day..I was wondering if you guys have a post ride warm down routine,,,Has anyone used post ride oils and self -massaged their legs with the stuff...Does it aid recovery!
I was looking at maybe buying some oils ,anyone recommend any!

Stretching and then Foam roller massage. Don't waste money on oils.

  • I use WD40. It smells great and it's a good on greasy skin too.

Snake oil or not, it is used with a vengeance boyo.
You only need to wander into a race hq (i.e. Church Hall on a cold and damp Sunday morning) to smell the aroma of oiled up legs and thighs - Elite Ozone being a favourite for those not a budget , ... its main aim ? to instill fear into the opposition

Reminds me of one of my first games of football with a saturday club. I was a shy 17yr old stuck in a cramped changing room surrounded by older men wearing jockstraps and oiling themselves liberally. I remember thinking..Er, we are here to play football, right?!

Definately me ... that is ... when I'm allowed.

Just to be slightly helpful for a moment, Chafe-Ease is good for saddle pressure points. But it is probably mostly just herbal Sudocreme of some sort.
