left side bottom bracket cup stuck

Hi
have removed shimano bb un54 bottom bracket.....except for the left cup.
The left cup looks slightly different that the right hand side and the bb tool i used doesnt seem a good fit.
as you can see there appear to be teeth missing but as its a cross pattern im not sure if its damage or design.
this is the tool i used for the right side cup which removed it easliy but its not fitting very well into the left side cup and slips instantly when turned.
Any help fully appreciated

cup is the same just mashed hammer and hope.
