Help with air forks leaking

i recently acquired a boardman mtb comp(http://www.boardmanbikes.com/mtb/ht_comp.html) with suntour air forks its been great so far but today i noticed a hissing sound when the forks are compressed about an inch at first i thought i had a puncture but now i assume the dust seals of my fork are leaking.
Should i just do a strip and clean then see if air still escapes also does any one know the exact model of the forks as there seams to be quite a few epicom lod models, are there any guides you know of on the internet or should i just follow the standard workshop book.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Has the level of sag changed?
Forks do hiss as they compress, as oil moves through the dampers.0 -
the hissing can be normal of some forks.
how is your sag? unchanged? then no problem."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

the sag has gone down a bit and the forks don't seam to fully extend also they don't compress smoothly.
should i put more air in then see it that helps0 -
Set the sag again. Then check it after a ride.0

If the air unit is leaking, it wouldn't just leak when compressed...
Just to clarify sag going down is achieved by pumping up the suspension!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
