26.0 kit on oversized bars

Hi, can I put 25.8-26.0 kit on the thinner part of a 31.7 oversized bar. Anyone know what would be the diameter of an oversized bar on the sides of the clamp area?

    does it mean that both standard 26.0 and oversized 31.7 have the same diameter on the rest of the bar exept of the clamp area?

    Yes, road handlebars have a standard diameter of 22mm from memory - it's only the centre bulge that varies. FWIW flat / MTB bars are smaller diameter.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
