Spesh Hardrock

Here is my spesh hardrock sport disc 2012. I use it mainly for riding to work along the river, and trails. Everything is stock atm but on the wish list is a set of recons (maybe rebas...), pedals, renthal fatbar lite, new stem with a lesser angle and smaller length.

And my plastic bashguard just broke, don't really know what to do about that.

  • You will be able to reuse most of your components. Thats what i did. I just bought a new frame and fork from on one and transferred everything else from my xc bike over to it. I have since upgraded most of the original parts though.

    Well tbh the first thing I would of upgraded would of been forks to recons or maybe rebas but even if i ran the fork at 120mm it wouldn't do a bfe (which is most likely) justice. Besides seeing as I don't really take the hardrock on anything too challenging for it, it doesnt need upgrading.

    Those three frames you listed are very different. The Charge duster is a pure xc bike, lovely ride but not at all aggressive. The 456 is a trail bike, heavy but cheap and not bad. The BFe is an all mountain bike, seriously good but really aggressive, I know people who use them as hardtail DH race bikes.
    For any of these frames you will need a new front mech and seat post and a new fork. The Charge uses a 100mm fork, the 456 works well with a 140mm fork and the BFe is designed around a 150mm fork.

    The chances are it'll be a bfe frame and then built up. I don't know what i was talking about in relation to the duster!

    For what its worth, any 456 frame will work with 4 inch, 5 inch, or 6 inches of travel.

    Thus, a 100mm fork in a 456 would be fine, if a bit tame.
