I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread for folk who's got a place and are looking for accommodation.
The Holiday Inn Express in Stratford, London which is 15 mins walk (so less on a bike) from the Olympic Park currently have doubles and singles for £141 for two nights stay inc breakfast. For anyone who hasn’t stayed in London before that’s pocket change!
Do a search on Late Rooms.

For those of us that live fairly close what is the best suggestion for parking. it might be worth me booking a room at £40 for the Saturday night that includes parking nearby. Otherwise it looks expensive to park nearby.
Would it be better to park near the finish and ride to the start? If so any suggestions please.0 -
Just booked the IBIS at Stratford for £81 went for the option that lets you cancel the room up to 24 hours before, in case they decide that they will not allow bikes or something stupid like that...... but its only £66 if you pay now.0

I was thinking of parking in the Greenwich / Blackheath area, and then taking the Greenwich foot tunnel across the river. Blackheath station car park is apparently £15 for 24hrs. I guess it could get pretty busy though, if there are 20,000 entrants!________________________________________
Rides:
1) Specialized Langster (green one, SS) - FCN 5
2) Giant TCR Alliance- FCN 40 -
I have just released a room i was holding for the 3rd Aug at the Premier Inn at Excel. Now booked a room at the Travelodge at East India Dock which is about 3 miles from the Olympic Park - £30!

Now its gone up to £65 !0 -
Just a quick note - be aware that a lot of central london hotels do not include parking, and this can be quite expensive!0

Just booked the Travelodge Docklands (East India Dock) for Saturday and Sunday night.
Double room was £63 for Saturday night dropping to £28 for Sunday night!!!!
Believe they have parking at £5 per day for residents.
Looks like a 3 mile ride to the start and I can use the DLR to get to the park for registering on Saturday.
10 mile ride from the finish back to the hotel though0
