Rims without Spoke Holes

I just received a pair of Campag clinchers. There are no holes in the well of the rim. If a spoke nipple failed or got rounded off, how would you replace it? If the well of the rim is smooth, do you need rim tape?

1 you dont round them off.

2 you read the info in the manual about the nipple insert and the magnet.

The latest Kyseriums (well, over the past couple of years) have smooth rims internally and they say that you don't need rim tape but I still slip a couple of rounds of insulting tape in there just to be safe - especially around where the valve goes out of the rim.

Weighs nothing but peace of mind.
