Im wanting to buy some brakes for my SS build 26er hard tail.Im trying to keep weight down but want good function.Ive always had hope brakes and like the quality/reliability etc.Im 13 stone and was looking at buying the Tech evo x2 brakes but have seen that they do the Stealth Race evo x2 brakes as well .From what i can see you get less adjust-ability and a standerd hose but less weight .Are they worth the extra cost.Im looking at paying £208 for a pair of tech evo x2 brakes with braded hoses or £242 for the Race evo x2 (both without rotors or mounts )
WHATS BEST TO DO
At the end of the day, it's night.

    Buy Shimano XT's
Stainless braided hoses are a waste of money and weight.

If it has to be one of the two, i'd get the Tech Evo's.

Shimano are more reliable and give better braking for the lever pull. If you want lightweight then consider Formula. Hope really offers no benefits these days.

Stainless hoses offer no advantage at all, they really don't.
