I currently ride xc and have a 100mm hardtail. I plan on doing the mega avalanche, enduros and just riding Wales/Scotland and more abroad.
I have narrowed down my search to two bike:
Ghost amr plus 7500
Ghost cagua 6550 650b
It's just whether if I need 160mm for what I'm doing or whether 150mm will be fine.
What do you guys think?

160mm is overkill for most of what your likely to ride and I had a group of friends who did the Mega on 140/150mm bikes without issue (well, not travel issue anyway).
Must have been an interesting list if you whittled it down to 2 Ghosts? What about the Titus El Guapo's or Transitions or Norco Shinobi's etc?
Though the Ghost AMR is a cracking bike by all accounts.Family, Friends, Fantastic trails - what else is there

I can get ghosts at a discounted price so they are the two I'm not sure about, I was thinking that 160 could be overkill as well.
Thanks though0 -
Most of my mates have done the mega on 140mm travel (Lapierre Zesty, Marin WR, Turner 5-spot, Tranny Bandit etc) as there is plenty of pedal work to be done as well as the nice downhill stuff. So whichever one of those is 140mm would seem to be a plan!Trail fun - Transition Bandit
