Hey guys, ive been attempting a bike build. All my components are in and I ordered a trek madone 5.9frameset.
Does anyone have an installation guide. mainly for the cabling aspect of the build. Theres a lot of barrels, and tiny other bits and pieces that are a little confusing to put together.

Pay someone who knows how to do it, last thing you want to do is make an error on such a costly piece of kit.
Or... find a local club and ask one of the members if they would help you build the bike, that way you learn at the same time.
They are a lot more friendly than some of the people here.Living MY dream.0 -

Do you have Shimano gears/brakes etc ? If so, then you can get installation guides for all of their kit from their website. Also have a look at the Park Tools website, they have a lot of maintenance guides which may help your build.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

If you are looking for an installation guide my advice to you would be to get a LBS to build it for the sake of an extra £100 or so you are risking damaging your new frame.
If you do decide to do it yourself I would ensure you have a bike torque wrench and use that tighten bolts etc.
Good luck0 -
He won't damage the frame running cables rough if he has an installation guide showing which ones run where. Many people prefer to learn to do things themselves and save them £100.0

Installing the cables is not a Rocket science. any one can do it. Just make sure that the cables are cut in proper length and are inserted through the pressure tubing when the inner cables goes into the frame. Also make sure that you fit the ferrule are fitted at every end of an outer cable.Custom build Trek MTB

^^^^^^^ yes you correct. The ferrule cannot fit on the caliper end. Should have specified that in my post.Custom build Trek MTB

Try borrowing a bike from someone and copy that - it's easier than trying to look online. Trickiest bit will be getting the outer cables the right length - make sure you leave enough to allow the bars to move from lock-to-lock.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
