They're currently doing the 'news' segment on Top Gear and my sweet lord theres an absolutely stunning lady stood behind the Richard Hammond. She's wearing a pink jacket.

Defo better looking than that Aston.......

I forgot it was on!!! OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :'(

    Road - Dolan Preffisio
    MTB - On-One Inbred

I have no idea what's going on here.
  • Meh, it was a bit weak this week. Same as last couple of series - belting first installment, then all goes a bit, well, flat.

Still, the American Rugby League Cup Final is on at 11.

It's so shallow. Why don't they have any balding fat middle aged men called Derrick stand behind the presenters?

He was busy in the States pulling out fuses.

TG has been 5hit for the last 7-8 years. I Sky + it and just skip through to see if there's anything good on. I remember when car's used to get reviewed. Fifth Gear's last few series' have been relegated to a 30 min slot on C5 and even with some adverts they still manage to do more reviews and features. TG is about 3 podgy middle aged men living out their childhood car related fantasies on license payers money.

    I'm just jealous!

I agree regarding the quality of the programme and have stopped watching it.
But Top Gear is produced by an independent TV company, sold to the BBC, who then sell it on worldwide.
It actually makes the BBC profit and doesn't cost the license payers a penny.

None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Same here. The studio 'spontaneous chats' are just cringe-worthy, scripted and rehearsed.

I only watch the 'features' and then I just usually look for the camera cuts to see how many times they have filmed a 'spontaneous' moment. There was one they did 3 times, when the little one dropped a tray of drinks on a train. There was a long shot from head-on, a shot from behind and a close-up from the front (the cameraman obviously not present for the close-up when they did the long shots).

Oh, and if you're thinking of watching next Sunday's episode, it will probably be the same as last week's, just in a different location and different cars.

    Captian Slow; hilarious!

Hmm, pardon my ignorance. Thanks for setting me straight on that one. Probably explains why Richard Hammond flies to work in his own helicopter.

Edit:- I was working with years out of date memory, when I watched it, so I did a quick Google.
From what I found out it is now BBC owned with JC taking 30%, Andy Wilman 20% and the BBC gets the remaining 50%.
Last reports were an annual profit of £15 million and that 50% only cost the BBC £100.00.
    From here - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012/se ... y-clarkson
Then again, I wouldn't trust the figures too much. According to the report, JC's 30% of £15m could give him £10m, or even £15m. :? Confused.com

  • No argument that it's become a sort of car-based version of The Chuckle Brothers, but it is generally amusing and entertaining.

But, as said on the BB thread from last week, there's little else the Beeb does on 1 or 2 these days which is worth watching, and if the profits from TG finance Bettany Hughes to meander around ancient places in a hour long experiments on the shear strength of thin wool or cotton jumpers, long may it continue.
