Trivial but tough question

When I get home from cycling, I can never make up my mind what to do first. Should I:

Park the bike - I want to do this first so that the bike is safe from falling, but then I have to walk with road shoes to the bike stand!
Take off shoes - If I don't take off my road shoes first, I may fall walking. But I have to lean the bike against something to take off my shoes, which may make the bike fall!
Take off helmet - Taking this off makes it cooler, but 1 more thing to carry in my hand, increasing the chance bike and myself both fall while walking to the bike stand!

Tough decisions. Then there's the tougher decisions to decide whether to take off my stinky jersey before walking to the bike stand!

Reach for a G&T, or a decent whiskey. You know it makes sense.

Routine from coming back from a ride:

    1. Get off bike.
    2. Take helmet off.
    3. Walk into garage with bike and helmet.
    4. Park bike.
    5. Get in house.
    6. Take shoes off.
    7. Take jersey off.
    8. Shower.

I dont mind walking 20 feet in my road shoes, I like to live dangerously like that  .

Learn how to lean the bike against something properly and it won't fall over!
  • Do you need help getting dressed in the mornings?
  • Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in...repeat ad infinitum.
  • That is a tough one, I may have to ponder on that for a while.

If you can't work this out for yourself, how have you survived this long? Has your carer just abandoned you?

    It is very dangerous indeed!

    See:
You may fall between 1. and 6. since you are walking with road shoes!
You may fall and knock your head between 2. and 6.!
You may fall with your bike between 2. and 4., knocking your head and damaging the bike!

Fit stabilisers. Hire an Asian boy on below minimum wage to stand with the bike and also bring your slippers to change out of your shoes into.

    Most important - MTFU.

Are you actually able to ride the bike ?
  • I never have problems walking in my road shoes, even on slippery floors like in Tesco. My garden is the least of my worrys.
  • Deary me some people have too much time on their hands.
  • Do you need a project plan to take a pi55 or are you taking the pi55 with this post
  • Get in,
    Dump bike
    Take off Helmet
    Take off shoes
Get abuse from GF as to where have you been
    Attempt to kiss her
She moves away and gets annoyed that ive covered her in sweat and ruined her hair.
Run into bathroom and lock door before having a shower
Get more abuse from GF as to why im hogging the bathroom when she needs to get ready before going out.

    1. Get off bike
    2. Lean bike against wall and stumble in doors.
    3. Shout "I'm back"
    4. Wife not happy "how long you been out, I've had the kids all morning, you and that bl00dy bike etc"
    5. Make myself cup of tea
