Would a triple Sram x5 9/10 speed chainset be compatible with a 7 speed cassette on the rear?

along with the appropriate shifters, indexing and limiting (the rd) should work. If you're not experienced it could be a though job tough!0

I'm assuming he just means cranks and rings, not the whole caboodle inc mechs, shifters etc.

its cranks only which is 3x7 i suppose at the minute, wouldn't the 3x10 crank just work with existing derailleur and shifter?0
