All races have been moved to Saturday in the past half hour, due to a flooding risk on Sunday.

    This course map gives you an idea of why flooding could be an issue;

Great idea by the USA! The first chance to have a 'cross World Champs on a course that's dry, like most courses in the US and they put it in a Belgium-esque mudbath!

Ah, well. Fair play to them I suppose! Can you imagine where the spanish would have held it?!? ;)

A bit amateurish all this - apparently the river often floods and they just took te risk. The Belgians are pretty angry, especially the supporters and pubs organising big events sunday evening... .... I dont think the cross world will be returning to the states for a while.....

  • Even more snow overnight.

Course looks like that world cup race at Hoogerheide a couple of weeks ago.

Yes it does. That's what the Belgians feared - they were nowhere then - Czech and Swiss ice and snow specialists.

In the junior race the Dutch seem to have it wrapped up - 1 and 2 at the moment with 2 Belgians chasing

  • Belgians faded in the last lap. 5th/7th/8th.

Is that Bob Roll's cousin doing the commentary on the UCI feed? Getting all apoplectic about the 'Murican Owens who got up to third and then promptly dropped to sixth, meanwhile the 2 Dutch guys are out of sight.

Czech riders will be delighted with the conditions, particulary Martin Bina who showed he's pretty untouchable on snow at Hoogerheide
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • What is that guy's name that beat the men for fastest lap speed at some race a little while back? He racing?
    Contador is the Greatest
  • Women's race: GB's challenge lasts less than a minute there...

Wyman & Day in tangled up crash moments after the start.
  • So Vos will ride the whole course solo and the rest fighting for 2nd and 3rd. Hmm.

  • 30 sec lead, 4 laps to race.

Some spectator wearing a pair of handlebars on his head like a set of antlers.
'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'
  • Pink bike looking a bit slow to get back on track after that fall. Exciting.

    Camera work is pretty good.

  • Need Vos to crash a few times here to make it a bit more interesting.

  • Time gap 50 secs after that lap....different league.

Lefevre has dropped a couple places.

  • Deja vu. She's taking a dozen seconds a lap on the chasers.

I'm going to pop across the road and grab a beer ready for when she starts lapping the field.
  • Think I'm going to go back to watching stage 20 of Giro 2011. Maybe there will be more interest in the later races.

If Vos wins, she'll be reigning Olympic road champion, World road champion and World cyclocross champion. Anyone - male of female - ever achieved that before?

I was a bit worried after the US nationals, but they must have someone else doing the coverage - much better!
