Might be training for LEL, RAAM or some other crazy audax event... but either way, the answer is quite probably yes.0
-
I get bored after 10 minutes (most I can last is half-an-hour) so 10 hours can't be right.0
-
Thats probably what happens when you sit down to watch the Lord of the Rings directors cut on the rollers.0
-
was it rollers? It says "stationary trainer". I'm not sure anyone has got the concentration for 10 hours on rollers just to stay upright!! Bloody impressive if a little unhinged!!0
-
He says it was on rollers on one of his comments. Check out the average speed and max speed0
-
Haven't watched the extended edition on the bike (have watched it though) but I have been working through the making of one while on the turbo trainer. The videos outlast me (2 hours each  )0

Judging by the commets, looks like he did it to get to the top of the strava basemile blast for the uk.
I can't help but think that's a little sad rather than mad.0 -
Well that would definitely make me sadder than him. Strava seems to have an odd effect on some people.0

I used to work with a guy who was in training for the coast to coast race across America
He would finish work on a Friday, go home and basically spend the entire weekend on a static bike
Complete nut job0 -
It is clearly some kind of illusion - no way someone can do over 40mph on rollers after 10 hours of already doing a high 20's mph average.Yellow is the new Black.0

Depends how much resistance there is, innit? I jumped on my turbo last night, felt good and did 100kph for a bit, before I realised that I hadn't put the roller on my wheel. Boy was my face red!0 -
This guy has done 2528 miles in 8 rides - that works out at an average distance of 316 miles a ride! Hmmm something smells fishy!!!!0
-
Where as this guy is even worse. 2924 miles in 6 rides. That works out 487 miles for each ride. Yeh right!!!0

And it only took him 14 hours !0 -
Orrr you could see that he did RAAM twice and finished? Bet you next say that racing for 3 weeks in july through france cannot be done either?0
-
Racing for three weeks in July? What, proper, full-on racing speeds? Sounds like you'd need to be on drugs to do something that crazy. They use their cars as shopping baskets; they use their cars as overcoats.0

Yup, strava January base mile challenge is what it's all about. Imagine the kudos of being the top uk rider (yawn). I got into that a little bit myself because I was determined to be tops in my group... So out every day, rain, shine, wind, snow, ice and down to the gym on the bikes when I couldn't get out. Definitely sad...
I see that the top riders did nearly 4000 miles in January and spent up to to 60 hours a week out on their bikes. All genuine GPS mileage... Do some people need to get a life?0 -
