help with brake adaptors

Hi, I'm in the process of upgrading the brakes on my Boardman HT Pro and have purchased some Shimano XT brakes (bargain) which are have IS fixings but my bike has Post mount fixings (both front and rear). I understand I need adapters to convert them and from what I've read I will need to go up from 160mm to 180mm discs, what I am struggling with is the adapters themselves. Is it Post to IS or IS to post that I need as the ones I've looked at are seemingly all the same. I appreciate any response and pointers in the right direction.

which XT brakes?
take the adpators off and fit them to the fork with the 160 disc.
and have a look it the FAQs above."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sounds like the OP bought some IS mount calipers.
Bargains end up becoming nightmares.

One way or another you'll be able to mount a IS brake caliper onto the fork but mounting a IS brake to the frame could be a big problem.0 -
Thanks nicklouse and cobba, the adapters from clee-cyles will be what I need but judging by the last comment and the reviews I think I may need to go back to the drawing board and look for some Post mount calipers.0
