Indoor Cycle Storage

Hope this is the correct place to post this?
Having upgraded to a Carbon Road Bike I am looking for storage solutions.
Ideally would store with the bike vertical (running up the wall). Are there any major dos and donts for this?
My previous bike hung inside the shed but my house insurance will not cover the value of the new one. Specific cycle insurance seem to have so many conditions as to make outside storage impractical? (Can anyone recommend a good company for cycle insurance)
Thanks

Saw these at the Bike Show a couple of weeks ago. They looked nice, not cheap though0 -
Just give it pride of place in the lounge or dining room - no need for special storage solutions. :-)Yellow is the new Black.0

You might be ok storing in a shed as long as you use an approved lock and ground anchor.Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team
Winter - Trek Madone 3.5 2012 with UDi2 upgrade.
For getting dirty - Moda Canon0 -
Have one of these in in the hall way corner & been using it for about 4 years now with no issues - http://www.tuskstore.com/index.php?cPath=28Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0

And where do you hang them while they dry after a wet ride?0 -

My solution is to convert the bathroom, which is downstairs, into a utility room/ bike store, and move the bathroom upstairs. That's the plan, anyway, until then I keep bikes indoors0

Thanks for all the advice.
Think hanging vertically is the answer for me, in the dining room (name only), no room to eat with fish tank, football table and TV / PS3. My Tarmac will fit in well. Thought about horizontally above the sofa but wet bikes and the sofa probably dont mix!
Not really wanting to store in a shed, insured or not, read the sad shed thread. (my Mountain Bike can have that to itself).
Thanks again
