Why are XT brakes £130 if you buy them separately but £200 if you buy them as a package?

Probably because they're OEM packaged as two and thus unable to split the package.

They might get a rebate from the manufacturer and/or distributor if they sell a front & rear set hence the price drop on the package deal over the singles.

They might be serial code tracked as a packaged product and thus unable to split.

Few reasons tbh, that's just how the markets work.

sorry should've been clearer. They are £130 for a pair when bought separately. Although the rears are out of stock so you can't buy a set.

**edit the separate ones are also European configuration, LH front, RH rear.

In that case they probably got a good deal from their supplier on LH front brakes and are able to discount them heavily.

Yep I had the same problem, I gave up and bought from the Germans instead.
