Should I shorten chain when converting to 1x9?

Converting from 3x9 to 1x9, using the middle 32t chainring, I believe my rear mech is medium cage,

Before I set up the gear settings, will I need to shorten the chain? Seems ok as it is!

It 's probably OK. Just be sure it isn't slack when you're on the smaller cogs!

But there's nothing wrong with shortening the chain a little bit. I like my chain nice and tight, but that's just me. :)

    Yes.
you follow the standard fitting info.

around the two big cogs without the rear mech and add one full link.
