I was lucky and got my AM-bike for this season a couple of weeks ago! All of you know Trek and how big they are. They make kinda decent trail-bikes, but 2x10 just doesn't cut for me. So I started modifying it and here's the result. I'm quite satisfied with it. :)

Here's how it looks stock: http://s7d4.scene7.com/is/image/TrekBicycleProducts/80512?wid=1490&hei=1080&fit=fit,1&fmt=jpg&qlt=100,1&op_usm=0,0,0,0&iccEmbed=0
Kinda boring looking bike, right?

So the first thing I went for was XTR instead of X0. I Love the feel and crispness every XTR-component I've ever owned have. There's something quite special with it!

Very nice bike, and an interesting choice of components. What was the reason for the Zipp stem? It's light, but wouldn't a Thomson or something else be stiffer?

11.9kg is very good for a trail bike, and considering the dropper post that's actually very light!

Thank you! The Zipp stem is there mainly because I feel 70mm is 'enough' and I rode with the same stem on my AM-bike last year. I wouldn't say it's as stiff as Thomson or something more trail-specific, but it's stiff enough and it proved itself last year. And it looks bitchin' too!

BTW: What was interesting about the choice of components? :)

Well, when I said "interesting components" I was mainly talking about the Zipp stem, but the eThirteen stuff is interesting too! I use a 70mm Thomson X2 stem, and it seems perfect for the bike, so I was just curious what you thought about the Zipp stem.

No, that's not my bikes. That picture is taken in the bike shop I work at. :)
