Hi all, my first post....
I've just bought a Vitus 992 Dural frame with the intention of building something close to how it was originally was sold. As you would expect from an over 20 year old frame it has a few scratches on the aluminium so can anyone give some advice on how to clean and polish out some of the scratches and then protect it.
Thanks, Rod

Probably worth asking over on Retrobike forum - Vitus has a healthly following. Depends on whether the scratches are on the tubes or the lugs. Main frame tubes are anodised so coating is very thin and you risk polishing-off the coating. Lugs and stay are polished alloy, so Scotchbrite pads, metal polish and elbow grease are the order of the day. You can either use a wax polish to temporarily protect the finish or get it clear-lacquered
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
