Morzine or Saint Gervais les Bains for family
Hi, I am planning a summer holiday in France to include a few activities but focused on some good mountain biking for the family. This includes 2 daughters of 11 and 14 who are good cyclists but by no means experts. Can anyone advise on the best or most suitable area / resort to stay in around Morzine, Saint Gervais, Les Gets etc
Thanks
Thanks

I'm interested in something similar, though with slightly younger children. I'm looking for a place that has a good range of trail ability levels, from easy blue up. I don't want to end up going somewhere where its either hardcore red/black, or fireroad through the woods green.Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0

I wouldn't head for Morzine with kiddies... In my humble opinion, it's very DH orientated in the summer. I'm sure there are lovely xc trails around somewhere, but I certainly never stumbles across them! The xc trails I rode around Morzine were still pretty tough and not suitable for kids. To be honest it's really geared up to the (excellent) uplift DH runs rather than the xc / family market
I don't know about the other areas i'm afraid.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

Not that I can help at the moment hopefully I'll be heading out to Saint Gervais over the summer so should be able to help. I you were looking for accommodation in that area then I know of some English ex-pats who do B&B.
If you go before July would you update with your views and where you went?
Thanks and I hope you enjoy wherever you go.http://bigbikerideeurope.appspot.com/ - my plans for a tour of Europe riding as much as possible.0 -
Hi, I've booked to go to Saint Gervais Les Bains in August - after some research I think it is more realistic for families but still has some uplift assisted rides (not hardcore DH though )0
