XO Grip Shift reassembly

Hello
Was trying to find why my shifter was so rattly (loose cover) and was removing it from my bike. Whole thing came apart in my hands and a spring came flying out. I can see where the spring should go but for the life of me can't put back together. The Gripshift part (which turns) just doesn't seem to sit back close enough to the fixed bit where the cable comes out. Seems the spring obstructs it a wee bit? Does anyone know the correct technique to put back together? I'm normally fairly good technically but this is a fail. I can find spare parts guide but not an instruction guide online...
Thanks

I hate gripshift for this reason, worlds biggest 3d puzzle! Took me 2 hours once to get one back together lol.
I have seen guides on MTBR before.0 -
Well I did like them better than Shimano....That was till this. I have spent an hour trying to figure it out. Looks simple but must be a technique. Searched high and low and not found much info...Links to MTBR guide?0

Don't have a link sadly, but remember reading one before.0

Well mines a 2x 10 and there is a different manual. But yes page 44 and the spring labeled 3 is the bit that doesn't seem to fit. Judging by the picture you fit one end into one part and the other end into the other part and rotate them together so the spring is under tension. Still doesn't seem to fit together....
Page 49 this manual...Spring is part 4...
