Help with my Rockshox Revelations :(

About half a year ago I bought a new set of 2012 Rockshox Revelation RLT forks.
This Saturday just gone, I went for a muddy / snowy 15 mile xc ride.
Forks where fine at the start, but a couple of miles before getting back home i noticed the forks had stopped working. At their usual uncompressed position they had become super stiff, as if I had locked them, but I hadn't.
Got home, cleaned the bike as usual (pressure washer again), looked for obvious signs of damage but nothing.
Ever since (just checked again now) the forks will not compress other than a few mm.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Spoke to Merlin Cycles, where I bought the forks, they are advising me that I send them the forks and that it may be a warranty job. Before I do, I was curious if other had suffered similar issues with their forks.
Many thanks in advance!!!

They are dual air, but not dual position.
Yeah I know about the pressure washer, gulp, i do try to not directly blast the forks (much)0 -
First step would be to let all the air out both sides and back the damper off and see if anything changes....
Next step would be to pull the lowers off, easy job, just get the manual and follow it step by step.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
Had same problem with set of Recons t'other week. Removed lowers cleaned the grunge off them - water seem to have badly contaminated fluid as it was all grey and bubbby looking - and refitted with fresh suspension fluid. Good as new.0
