Got shimano brakes (105 on the BMC) and have adjusted them a couple of times, Ideally though i'd like the brakes to bite a little earlier than when they do (depress the lever a 3rd of the way in and they start to bite).

any ideas, as to how to change this?

  • The caliper has an adjusting screw with a big plastic cap... just give it two-three turns anticlockwise and that will put the pads closer to the rim.
If unsure, pop in sometime and we'll do it in 5 minutes

undo the bolt thats holding the cable.

Pull a little more cable through.

    tighten the bolt.

make sure your pads are still aligned correctly.
