Carbon wrapped alloy seatpost
Hi
I have a quick question about greasing/carbon fiber lubrication.
I have a Specialized Allez comp 2011 which has a carbon wrapped alloy seatpost. I'm curious if I should be using standard grease to lubricate this or go for the carbon fiber lubrication?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Carbon paste as its the carbon of the seat post that is in contact with the seat tube.0

If there's any carbon in it then always go for the paste. It's still wet (like grease) and prevents seizing, but because it's got the little granules in it, it'll make sure you only have to tighten to the required torque and it wont crack the carbon.
Normal grease is just a lubricant, but the paste is still "wet" so it still prevents seizing. With carbon, it's always best to be careful and there no real reason not to.0
