Can I use a Shimano XT M786 Shadow+ rear mech with a 9 speed xt cassette?
Due to other bits needing replaced I can't afford to up grade my shifters to 10 speed so don't want to go for the 10 speed cassette just yet.

Although there is an article on Pink Bike about using a Shadow Plus rear mech with a 9 speed SRAM shifter, you need a 0.25" spacer on the cable clamp bolt.
Not sure I'd want to do it, but apparently the bodge works.0 -
Thats interesting, but I'm having enough problems with out 'experimenting'
