If you only ride xc unless you are exceptionally heavy,do you need the strength of Arch rims? If not then I`d go for Crest rims.
Little to choose between Swich and Pro 2 hubs on paper. Some will say there is a better back up from Hope (newer Evo version has better rear bearings than the older version of the Pro 2),others favour the lower cost of Switch hubs. Both run Cartridge bearings. If you were to ask this question on the singletrack forum they`d say Hope, whereas the Bikersadar crew seem to be generally happy with Superstar...............
So many opions on hubs,Sonic will say get Shimano cup and cone, Njee will probably say get A to Z or DT Swiss! ..........
Ultimately quality of build is perhaps the most important factor in guaranteeing durabilty.
Have heard some mixed reports on build of Superstar wheels, but then again some would say they are cheap enough that you could get them tweaked by a good local wheelbuilder if you had an issue.Think it was Pastey boy that had some issues with an early Superstar wheelbuild,so might be worth getting his opinion.
More recent buyers seem to be generally happy, and they certainly score on vfm.
