That is Pascal Jules son. He won the final stage into Paris some time in the 80's but died in a car crash.

  • and a police moto crashed with 1.5k to go and brought down a number of riders inc the very unlucky Johnny Hoogerland, Julien Simon and Lars Bak.

    Nice work

Good result for Barguil too and he's supposed to be a climber.

Haha, yeah. There was an article on one site with 'Dumoulin interview' and a photo of an AG2R rider...took me a while to understand he had switched teams.

Wow, incredible story. He did well to maintain the required level when locked away for a few years.

Oh man, I read the initial txt incorrectly. The rider killed someone...without knowing all the facts I'd say that is completely unacceptable. I revoke my comments above also.

The basic facts seem to be there, an alcholic and abusive stepfather. Judging by the length of sentence I suspect the court must have decided there was an element of provocation. I doubt many riders will risk getting on the wrong side of him though!

I'm sorry but that doesn't cut it for me. I suppose the only way I could manage to comprehend is if he was trying to kill Jules or his mother, but even then he could have taken out his kneecaps or something. There are authorities to deal with this sort of thing and I cannot condone murder.

Anyway, well off topic so I suppose we should wrap it up here or discuss it on another part of the forum!

  • Bringing it back...

Good bunching near the top for the Argos support sprinters.

Bodes well for Degenkolb and Kittel if their support riders are capable of top 10 finishes in other races.
