Hi guys.
I have a Specialized Rockhopper 08 and i'm looking to get an adjustable stem.
I have a Ritchey one for my road bike which is a non oversize bar and i love it.
I saw this and it caught my eye.
I have to be honest and say it's a bit ugly but it's different.

Has anyone had any experience with this? I like the amount of adjustment it has.
Thanks
Dan

Work out what you need and buy a fixed instead. I wouldn't use one on a MTB.

Why would you want to adjust it?

I'm trying to raise the handlebars but i don't have enough room on my fork stem.
My stem is already on it's highest point.
My current specialized one does have a slight raise but ideally i'd like to raise it by approx 2inches.
Can anyone recommend anything, I have seen those NVO stems but i'm not sold.

These, not sure they are any good though.
Don't think i trust them. Has anyone heard or had any experience of them?

Get a fixed stem with more angle.

the adjustable stems are heavy and i would not trust them if the bike is being used off road.

they tend to not really like vibrations.

higher rise stem and riser bars is the safest option.

    Ugly but yes.

But I would like o go back to the reason you are wanting to make changes?

What are ou using the bike for?

MTBing or canal paths and commuting?

I use it for Mtbing and paths.
Nothing major, just going through a few forests with a few jumps etc.
I used to use it for general fitness on roads as well but i have since bought a road bike for that.
I rode my mates cube 29er and it felt like a more comfortable riding position.
    It was more upright.
His frame is bigger and bars sit higher than his seat.
My seat sits higher and i feel like im leaning forward.
Nowhere near as much as the road bike but i would like to raise my bars a bit.
My seat is as far forward as it can go, so the only way i can see a change is by
either a high raise stem, high rise bars or new forks with a longer steer tube.
    What can u guys reccomend?

Stem with higher rise and bars probably too. Although I'd question your thinking. Xc bikes are like that.
