I have a Felt AR4, not been on the road yet but want to ride asap so, do I fit a mudguard (is there such a thing for this bike?) or do I just buy a winter trainer ?
If so, what trainer to buy ?

For a racing frame with no eyelets the most common solution is Crud Roadracers. They are plastic and fit with rubber bands and cable ties (sounds worse than it is).

You need absolute minimum of 4mm clearance between the tyre and the brake caliper in order for them to fit.

About £25 so worth a try.

Check out the Crud website and you'll see what I mean.

I have them on my CAAD with 25mm tyres (although many say 23mm is the max on some bikes.)

If you want/need to go winter trainer then Ribble and Planet X are both worth a look.

I have around 8mm between the tyre and the calliper.
    Ill take a look, thanks.

Thanks for the advice, I have purchased the Crud setup on both mine and the wifes bike.

    No problem.

Hope they go on OK, some on here seem to find them difficult to fit.

Then again some on here find being human difficult enough. :-)

Not having any shouldn't stop you going out on a ride if you're just on your own though :D Even if you're with people...tested out my friends new bike yesterday and got a bit off splash off her wheel but it's not the worst thing in the world!
