Fox TALAS adjust

I'm new to Fox forks, my TALAS 150mm 2013 forks have a dial on the top of each stanchion, the right is for CTD and I know what that does, the one on the left (sitting on the bike) is labelled TALAS and has + to - symbols. As far as I can tell all this does is adjust the travel between roughly 140mm and 150mm (in descend mode). What's the purpose of the dial? Is it to alter the geometry for climbs etc? While CTD changes the amount of travel the forks do not change in height, when I play with the TALAS dial they do drop or rise.
I've looked in the fork manual and on the Fox website but it isn't explained anywhere, I just want to know what it does so I know the consequences of playing with it :P
Are my guesses right? Does it do anything else?
Thanks

That's what it does, adjust the travel. I have Talas forks and very rarely use the function.0

+ equals 150 mm
- equals 120 mm0
