Alll very well to cite EU law and inform the user that cookies are used, but what about a right not to accept them yet still be able to go on the net un-hindered?

I know what you mean, I don't like other people f***ing with my laptop when I don't want them to. But on my laptop, cookies can be deleted.
Shockingly, if I delete all the cookies. I'm no longer automatically logged into this forum !
The last time I deleted all cookies was one or two weeks ago. I only use a small number of select websites... Bikeradar, Endomondo, Garmin Connect, Google Maps, Wikipedia, BBC News, Youtube, Ebay, Met Office weather forecast, Outlook and Wiggle. Thats about it. However in just over one week my laptop is saying 160 websites stored cookies or other data."The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0 -

I know what you mean and agree with you, but think of it as the price of admission. No cookies, no looky at website.
If you go to the cinema and expect to be admitted without a ticket, then you're kidding yourself. Fortunately, there appear to be few websites which prevent viewing without agreeing - just an annoying banner at the top.0
