going off a tiny jump, failed it and now I've bent my seat post....
OMG!
I'm fairly sure that the frame I have is too small for me, I got a 19 inch as recommended but I had to put the seatpost all the way up
what do I do now that I'm with this small bike??

Comments

  • I kind of want to get the next size up of the same frame, think the company will do that If I send it back with some money? :(
its almost like the bike is ruined from it being too small, fuck my life.
    cost so much too
why am I such an idiot?!!
Also why can't I just have a bike that fucking works, has nothing wrong with it? is that too much to ask?
    stupid bike company
    Jamis bikes!
the top tube is 19 inches
but the fucking seat tube isnt the correct length way to low!!! I've just wasted all my money on this bike wtf?!!?!?!?!?
EDIT: Looking at buying a new frame and I dont even know why I bother living, they are like half the price of an entire new bike with parts.... thats like all my savings.

What makes you think it's too small? and 19" isn't small!

I doubt they'll exchange it now you've damaged it....

Buy in haste, repent at leisure!

Nothing you've said suggests anything other than it needed a longer and/or stronger seatpost and better riding perhaps!

If the post bent but was still within the min insertion limit, try and get a new one under warranty.

Unlikely now you have ridden it and possibly damaged it
why am I such an idiot?!!

Your not, we all make mistakes.
Also why can't I just have a bike that ******* works, has nothing wrong with it? is that too much to ask?

The bike did work you just had an off, from misjudging a jump - we have all done that
the top tube is 19 inches

Stay calm have a cup of tea go a get a new seat post CRC sale still on, check the length of the old one and buy a new longer one. Also post a pick with you sitting on the bike, we might be able to see what the problem is. The guys here are very knowledgeable and will help you but you need to make your posts clearer.

      Rubbish rant.
Just get a Thomson 410mm seat post and stop complaining. This is what happens when you jump badly with your seat post too high.
Thomson seat posts are indestructible (in my experience).
Just because you need a longer post doens't mean the frame is too small. The top tube length is more important. I'm 6'1" and ride an 18" bike with a 410mm seat post almost on max height.

Maybe it can be friends with my bent seatpost.

Which you're welcome to - I don't want a bent seatpost near my bottom.

However. I feel you can definitely learn from me - I didn't rant on BR when I failed a jump and bent the post, I just bought another one.
    • Okay I now realise not worth the rage, I'll try to replace it through warranty
    • Replace what through warranty?

If your post is too short, why do you want another identical one?

Take a breath, pull yourself together, and answer some questions.

Was the "min-insert line" showing on the post?
      What length post is it?
      How tall are you?
What other problems are you having with this bike for you to be having such a massive hissy-fit about it?

      • Its a 400mm post on a 19 inch bike
the bike is a race design so the seat post tube doesn't come up very far, but yeah its my fault and replacing the seat post will fix the problem seeing as it hasn't bent with all other normal riding that I do.

Surely the seat tube comes up around 19" on a 19" bike?

If it doesn't come up far enough for you to have the post sufficiently inserted, then it is too small.

How tall you are could determine whether or not your frame is too small, but you seem intent on keeping that piece of information a secret.
