Hi,
needing some advices please.

I am a newbie to the road bike world. I want to change from MTB to road bike. Accually I never ride it before. I need something comfortable and funny to improve my healthy. I ride my MTB around 20-25 km 2-3 times a week for a month and lost 5 kg, but it is very hard and not comfort to ride in a long trip. I want to ride longer.

Currently I have 2 bikes to make decision, Defy1 or Cube Agree GTC Race 2013?

My LBS can offer me 10% discount for the Cube. So, the price will dropp from £1599 to around £1440 with full carbon frame, Ultegra + 105 components, Schwalbe Ultremo tyre, Easton EA50 wheel and weight 8.2 kg, it looks excellent value for money.

Another option is £999 Defy 1. Even it has alu frame and 105 + tiagra components, it has a lots of possitive reviews. In addition, it is £440 cheaper. I will test ride the Cube next week but the Defy I have to wait until the end or the beginning of March and no discount for it.

Shoud I save my £440 and go to Defy or spend more money for the better components? What do you think about Cube Agree GTC Race 2013? Is it worth for the price? Do you know any bikes with the same level components with the same price?

Finally, what do you think about Cube brand? I come from Asia country and never heard about Cube before.

Thank you very much for all of you.

They have different ride characteristics so try them out and pick the best for you. The Cube brand is generally highly rated.
  • I own the defy 1 and can honestly say its been a great entry level road bike, assuming you like the fit I would use the money saved to spend on decent pedals, gps, clothes etc
