Sure I have quite a lot. Only thing is I can't remember the res off pat. For you my friend I will go through and try and find some this evening.Contador is the Greatest0

Have you notices that two of those are from Video games, and as such look terrible?
I just use this one of Sky's website:
they have a good selection of other riders... leaves you a bit stuck if you're not a sky fan though.0 -

I would recommend looking on British Cycling flickr page. If you like track photos.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/britishcycling/sets/
eg/.
Gruber flickr page is:

Some of the earlier ones are super his-res

Looking through the shots its very difficult to ascertain which are high enough res to cover your entire screen but I wouldn't let that stop you using something smaller and having a white border. Personally I prefer that anyway so I can see my icons properly.
How about something classic - Gaul, Angel of the Mountains
Another few from Gruber:
ps. Jered Gruber has a website where you can purchase prints of all sizes.
http://gruberimages.squarespace.com/
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/gruber-images/
http://gruberimages.zenfolio.com/
Or you can just go for a Hincapie shot ; )
The Gruber shot for the Giro should fit your screen totally:
Use this one and tile it maybe?Contador is the Greatest0 -

Excellent - thanks Frenchie0

ps. right click on the photos, copy image url, paste into new browser, then save to pc. Some of them go a little odd if you just right click, save straight from above.Contador is the Greatest0

Those should keep you guys ticking over for a while. There was one awesome hi-res photo of a lone rider going up a mountain pass but I can't find it. If I do I will post it.Contador is the Greatest0

Enough pain in this one for you?!Contador is the Greatest0 -
Rapha may not be everyone's cup of tea but I think the photography (and video) they use is excellent; http://www.rapha.cc/downloads has already been mentioned and there are more of the grainy B&W style pictures on Flickr e.g. Ben Ingham's http://www.flickr.com/photos/raphacc/sets/72157625420346214/0

I'm not really a SKY fan, but thanks for taking the time to post any way.
The Rapha images are awesome, and I may use one of those. I think I've said before that Paris-Roubaix is my favourite race and I'd love some amazing images of that. Had a look around but struggling to find any decent photos I could use. Something that conveys the pain, that evokes the nostalgia, significance and emotion of this phenomenal Classic. Black & White would be best, but colour could work too.0 -

That's pretty good, but the wrong res - looks awful at 1920x1080 - too stretched and distorted. Thank you though0 -
Don't think this will work at the resolution you have, but a great photo! Look at the state of the pave!0
