Avid Elixir R lever clamp

Hi

Ive managed to strip one of the threads on my Elixir R lever clamp, is there any way of re-threading it?, at the moment i can onlt tighten one bolt and paranoid about it failing.

You might be able to re-tap it if there's enough metal in there. If not, you'll have to heli-coil it. Look up tapping/heli coil kits on ebay.

stripped in the clamp buy a new one.

stripped in the master cylinder most likely not enough thread so a new one as well.

I'd go to Ebay or classifieds for another lever - helicoiling isn't worth the cost on an R.
