Insurance: Pricing of components

Hi all, just after some opinion
I am looking to insure a bike for a few forthcoming trips away & stuff. My query is this.
I have transferred brakes, STI levers, derailluers, chain, casette, & crankset from one bike, onto another. The compenents came fitted to the first bike & were obviously included in the price.
So now I am wondering, what is the done thing for pricing re insurance? Price individual item at cheapest found, or RRP? Or do i just go with the the price of the groupset, cheapest found or RRP?
Thanks
Ali

I just use the price I paid or how much you can buy it for online + 10%.0

Depends on the insurer. For new bikes most use RRP regardless of what you paid, so I would go that route and depreciate accordingly.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

If you built a bike out of components it would probably cost twice as much. Your insurer will value it as a bike of the same broad spec.0
