  • My Armstrong must be pissed off that he gave the good Doctor all that money when he could have simply tld him not to bother as drugs are useless and sent him on his way.

Think of the trouble he could have saved himself!

There was a story that that was almost exactly what Dr Fuentes did with Francisco Mancebo. His natural HCT was 49 so there wasn't much to be done for him so he just got a placebo.

He dismisses a 3-4% improvement. That's HUGE at the elite level of sport.

    Sorry. N00b question.

If Ferrari is under a life time ban, who is he providing Personal Training to on his website?

I'll take a 3-4% gain over the 3 weeks thank you very much.

he's banned from any UCI event, although as he doesn't hold a racing licence there is very little anyone can do except ban the athletes for visiting him. Although the athletes get round that by saying they just get training advice, he prob just says drink loads of orange juice

His observations are always very interesting but he appears revel in a bit of stirring. It's also funny to see such colourful characterisations alongside the rather sterile numerical analyses.

"Therefore Armstrong would have achieved the same level of performance without resorting to doping..."

....and yet he still chose to dope?

    What a crock.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

  • The website hasn't been working since yesterday evening - was there something controversial posted and so it has been temporarily suspended?

I'd assumed it was just me that couldn't get it; I'm in India and the local 'net blocks some random websites from time to time.

I would assume Daz's quote would have ruffled some feathers, shouldnt the story go "Armstrong would have achieved no better performance had he ever resorted to doping"?

    ASTANA Case
    By: Michele Ferrari
    Published: 8 Dec 2014

I feel obliged, albeit very reluctantly, to once again deny the latest MEDIA BULLSH*T with regards to my presence ("during the night", or even in broad daylight, if you prefer) at the Astana Team Training Camp in Montecatini (I've been in that town, if I remember correctly, in 1994 to taste the famous waffles) last year in November.

The bombshell of ''the dark shadow of Ferrari" is absolutely FALSE and whoever has published it will respond about it in the appropriate courts: I hope that the Kazakh team will ask adequate compensation for the damages.

The article in Gazzetta dello Sport, among other extraordinarily confusing statements, claims that I am living between Lugano and Ferrara: I always resided in Ferrara, for 26 years at the same address, and I never even stopped in Lugano, nor have a study or home in that location.

Up to a few years ago I coached some of the Astana athletes, including Vinokurov: it has never been a secret, we never hid anything, we attended training venues where there were many other athletes, all in broad daylight.
Curiously Teide or St. Moritz, back then "suspicious" locations as defined by the very UCI, have now been "cleared" and are more popular than ever with cyclists and teams above any suspicion...

  • Thanks. Ferrari not messing around there. Gazzetta is often a pack of lies; it is Italian after all.

So let's get that logic straight, Gazzetta is a pack of lies, being Italian and all, but Ferrari, born, educated and working in Italy, is a beacon of truth?

One is bound by the relevant libel laws, the other banned from cycling for life for doping. I know who I'd think was being truthful in this matter.

So can I conclude that, being Italian, Nibali is lying?

    Clearly. All Italians are liars.
